Raw denim has an unmatched ability to mould to the wearer. It is the fade fabric par excellence, but there’s a catch. We must commit to it fully and completely. We can’t fade four or five pairs at a time. To do justice to our jeans, we must fade the hell out of one pair at a time.
This is why we founded the Indigo Invitational — to give enthusiasts very good reason to focus all of their fading efforts on one pair.
The Indigo Spirit
The Indigo Invitational may have started as a competition, but at the core of the yarn, it’s a tight-knit community.
From the first, this has been a competition with a heart. Our competitors support and encourage each other, and nothing is more important to us than preserving this spirit of camaraderie.
Bryan Szabo ??????
A freelance writer and editor from the Great White North, Bryan fell into the raw denim scene more than a decade ago when he bought his first pair of raw denim. He publishes content regularly on Denimhunters, and he works with denim brands, helping them sharpen their websites and product descriptions. Bryan lives in Budapest, Hungary, with his Norwegian wife.
Dave DickinsoN ????
A man of few words, Dave brings extensive project management experience to the table. He was relatively new to the denim scene when he founded the Invitational, but he is enjoying the experience of learning with and supporting the community. He can often be found in the engine room, making sure the ship doesn’t run aground.
